KEEP ON CLIMBING

Keep on Climbing marks the first collaboration between myself and writer-director Jude Bourne. As the film was shot on a shoestring budget of a couple grand, I was enticed by the prospect of a film that was endearingly indie in its ambitions and that situated the Bristol skyline almost as a secondary character in the narrative. The lighting was mostly achieved through a few HMIs we diffused through the windows of the house we shot in, a set of kinos and bi-colour dedos which we shaped and blocked out for texture. It's a film that encapsulated not only the challenges of standing on your own feet as an adult, but finding my own feet as a filmmaker at University.
