KISMET CALLING

'Kismet Calling', on paper, was a fairly self-contained short film. It was shot in one location, features two characters and is continuously-lit, for the most part. However, it is also a classic example of how limitations can give shape to the best storytelling and this is no exception. To film the living room, we created an LED lighting rig which was controlled through aa central DMX switch, enabling us to balance, strobe and shift the lighting temperature all in camera. This gave the space a dynamism which helped the atmosphere to move and flow with the story.
