Leave The Body is a pick'n'mix of genres, visual styles and narrative techniques - in many ways, it's eclecticism as a short film is only matched by the variety of weird and wonderful characters that populate it. Crowdfunded in the early months of 2022, principal photography took place at Ugly Duck studios between the months of August and September 2022. The film mostly consolidated of a set-build, featuring a large room and corridor which could then be repurposed into the supernatural 'mind rooms' we see elsewhere in the film. With a storyline that centred on a lonely protagonist trying to escape his social anxiety through a masochistic brain-altering chip, the film relies heavily on RGB lighting and well-choreographed continuous shots which twist and turn through the scenery. It was a bad-sh** crazy experience to DOP this project but thrilling all the same.
