MONICA WAT - ROSE GOLD

Keeping in the tradition of the last music video I shot for Hong Kong artist, Monica Wat, we used a lot of natural light for this video with the exception of a party sequence which takes place later in the video. The video, as suggested by its title, features a lot of pink imagery and colour, the majority of which was achieved in-camera through the production design but was amped up in the grade. To create a hazy, almost nostalgic look, I got hold of a couple TLS Petzval lenses, modelled after vintage Soviet lenses, which have a beautiful swirl in the bokeh (yes, these were the same ones that were used on last years Poor Things). The culmination of these techniques produced something truly special and sincere to the message of the song.
